Second Fall

One minute your on top of the world and the next in the ground. I'm only a quarter mile from home turning the corner my shoe caught the corner of the ice and down I go. Smashed my arm and hand but no serious damage. Just took a minute to gather myself together and get going again. Frustrating to fall twice in a week.

I knew it was bound to happen. The ice was terrible today. An ice rink. The kind of ice that we would shoe skate on as kids growing up.

Sure I could get a treadmill, but there's no fresh air with a treadmill and 90 percent of running for me is the outside time.

I finished the two blocks to home, took off my jacket, added some hydrogen peroxide to my hand and made a cup of coffee. Could have been worse? Sure. Does it make my wife nervous? Yes. But is the risk going to stop me? Nah. There are riskier hobbies (e.g. Cycling...even dare I say it... Sailing). It's worth it.

I'll be back on my feet tomorrow morning.
