I've been saving a few pairs of shoes with an idea for an art project, but today I finally decided it would be better just to let them go. Pascal drove me to Runners where there is a bin for old shoes that eventually fills up and is sent off for recycling. It felt a little like finally getting rid of books from school 20 years ago. The emotional situation felt similar. I spent a lot of time in those shoes, but I squeezed the life out of them. And truth be told, I still have others that fit in the "everyday shoe" category and one for the "grass cutting and dirty outdoor work" category. So many shoes. To think I'd been so hesitant to get a pair when I first started this running adventure. My oh my how times have changed.
